Intradermal Delivery of Catalase via Extracellular Vesicles for Targeted Photoaging Therapy
Biomaterials Research, 2026;30:Article 0329
DOI: 10.34133/bmr.0329
This study investigated catalase-loaded extracellular vesicles as a targeted delivery approach for photoaging-related oxidative stress. The research established a 313 cell line capable of producing CAT-loaded EVs and evaluated vesicle integrity, enzymatic activity, cellular uptake, oxidative stress, inflammatory response, collagen preservation, and in vivo photoaging models.
In experimental models, 313EVs were observed to reduce UVB-associated oxidative stress, support collagen preservation, and show effects related to inflammation regulation and improvement of photoaging-associated skin structure.
